Instarmac tiling solutions used to create bespoke mosaic masterpiece17th January 2017
A community project headed by mosaic artist, Tracey Cartledge has been completed using Instarmac adhesive and grout.
Chorlton Central Church commissioned the striking external focal point to be designed by Tracey, who holds weekly mosaic classes at the church. Manchester based tiler and Instarmac advocate, Andy Carroll was asked to support the mosaic installation with his expertise and product knowledge.
Extended set tile adhesive, ProFlex SP+ES was used to fix the mosaic tiles creating a piece which was inspired by a Bible passage centred upon the themes of peace and harmony. This adhesive is a firm favourite of Andy’s, boasting a 2 hour pot life, an application thickness of 3-20mm and a S1 classification making it ideal for use on timber floors.
Flexible Instarmac grout was used to finish the piece off. This product is available in a choice of 9 colours including Tracey’s selected Grey. It boasts mould and water resistant properties, and can be used with underfloor heating. It is fast setting and suitable for wall or floor joints up to 20mm.
Members of the local community are now enjoying the stunning detail and vibrant colours of the mosaic feature.
