Welcome

Innovation, Research and Development are stimulated by the relationships with our customers.

Research and Development

We invest in developing products and systems that solve today’s highway maintenance, public scheme, tiling, commercial flooring and internal finishing installation problems, and we aim to ensure these solutions are proven, trusted, durable and reliable. We put our products through rigorous testing to ensure they give the best performance possible in real life and real time situations.

This commitment has allows us to develop innovative products such as Envirobed® CD534. This cementitious manhole bedding mortar has truly stood the test of time. After 7 years of research and development we released this unique alternative to resin based bedding materials – completely revolutionising ironwork installation methods. Successes such as these allow us to quote that our materials are truly proven to boast durability.

Our commitment to innovation doesn’t end there. We recognise the importance of responsibly using raw materials in our product formulations and remain committed to optimising their efficient and sustainable use. This has led to innovations from our Technical team and we now use four “green” materials from other industries in our product formulations.

We are proud to have successfully launched our most environmentally friendly product to date – Enviro Mastic. This product contains up to 50% recycled material and has set a precedent for how we want to move forward as a business.

Research and Development is critical. Our team of in-house chemists are central to all operations and provide product innovation, new developments, technical information for packaging and support our manufacturing facility with new raw materials.

In this video, Instarmac’s Technical Director, Chris Murphy, gives a great insight to our Research & Development department. He covers who is in this team, their responsibilities and the importance of this department in the overall success of Instarmac.

“As Technical Director it is crucial that my team and I are innovative and constantly thinking ahead. This is particularly true when we consider which raw materials we put into our products. The market is changing and the request for products with “green credentials” is gradually increasing. With that in mind, we are always looking to include “green” materials in all our development projects”.
