UltraCrete certified to ISO 1400113th December 2018
UltraCrete have always prided themselves on their sustainability practices and what better testament than being awarded with an independent accredited for 12 years.
ISO 14001 is an internationally recognised standard with ‘sets out the criteria for an environmental management system. Annually, for the last 12 years, UltraCrete have had their environmental practices audited by an independent third party. This thorough audit investigates how manufacturing processes impact on the environment and the steps businesses take to address this.
This standard has helped UltraCrete to further improve their environmental performance through more efficient use of resources and reduction of waste.
On this achievement, Darren Gough, Quality and Operations Manager at Instarmac, commented: “Being ISO 14001 accredited demonstrates to our stakeholders that we are operating responsibly, are fully compliant with current and future statutory and regulatory requirements and are consistently improving our efficiencies and service”.
UltraCrete’s environmental responsibility doesn’t stop there!
Every one of UltraCrete’s customers can benefit from their Plastic Container Recycling Scheme – a scheme which helps their customers decrease their impact on the environment by reducing landfill and recycling non-biodegradable plastic, which can be re-used by other industries.
Are pallets taking up space in your yard? UltraCrete can take them back! Their experienced Drivers will collect your unwanted pallets and return them to Instarmac to be re-used – reducing waste to landfill, freeing up valuable space in yards and storage areas whilst helping to further protect the environment.
What’s more, collections and deliveries are made on UltraCrete’s state-of-the-art privately owned fleet, all of which boast the latest technologies to maximise efficiency enabling their Drivers to stay in the ‘green zone’, making the best use of fuel to further reduce harmful emissions.
These are just some of the initiatives UltraCrete have successfully implemented. They have also invested in Grey Water and Intelligent Lighting Systems alongside solar panels and climate control across their entire building. Furthermore, since 2014, UltraCrete has boasted ‘zero waste to landfill’ which means 100% of waste is recycled.
