Working Together towards a Circular Economy

UltraCrete appreciates the significance of a circular economy and look for ways to reduce their impact on the environment. Delivering sustainable products and solutions has always been of the utmost importance to UltraCrete and influences every business decision they make. With this in mind, UltraCrete have successfully implemented a number of environmental policies at their state-of-the-art premises in Staffordshire including a plastic container and pallet recycling scheme, helping to reduce waste to landfill whilst saving their customers time and money. Furthermore, since 2014, UltraCrete has boasted ‘zero waste to landfill’ which means 100% of waste is recycled.

Working Together towards Product Innovation

UltraCrete works with leading certification bodies to develop specifications and approvals for a range of maintenance solutions that help raise standards, reduce risk and save money.

This has included the British Board of Agrément (BBA), with whom they created the first ever HAPAS approval for a thermoplastic overbanding tape – Instaband ECO. They have also worked alongside the BBA, and more recently, Paving Testing Services Ltd., to develop highway approved standards for patch repair materials, such as HAPAS and PAS.

In 2002, they helped set the performance criteria of the HA104 specification for bedding mortars for ironwork and were the first brand to develop a cementitious version that fully met those requirements.

UltraCrete never stands still. They are constantly enhancing and developing product formulations and their high performance materials undergo rigorous testing to ensure longevity and  durability. Consistent product development has meant UltraCrete materials are trusted by the industry to provide maximum performance every single time. Their fast setting properties keep downtime to a minimum and eliminate repeat visits – helping to keep our network moving.

In addition, all UltraCrete products are delivered on their privately owned, FORS Silver accredited fleet, which is fully tracked in-house, meaning our customers always receive first class service which operates to the highest efficiencies and standards.

Working Together to Minimise Risk

UltraCrete know that working on our roads isn’t without risk. Ensuring operatives are working as safely as possible is  crucial, and with that in mind, UltraCrete have developed a number of products that are fast setting, minimising the amount of time spent on the roadside or on vulnerable locations, and have created cementitious alternatives to resin based materials, creating a healthier working environment.

UltraCrete have gone one-step further and regularly welcome visitors to their custom built training facilities, where operatives can receive product training by a member of their experienced Site Support Team and can learn which PPE is required and how to handle and use products as safely as possible.

This initiative, alongside many other safety procedures implemented at UltraCrete, has earned them the prestigious RoSPA Gold Medal Award for the previous 6 years.

Not only do UltraCrete provide solutions to the UK market, their trusted products are also available worldwide through a network of licensees and distributors. Each Licensee benefits from dedicated and personal training, marketing and sales support.

Working together with industry partners is second nature to UltraCrete and something they have encouraged over the past 40 years. Working with partners has allowed UltraCrete to find solutions, improve efficiencies and ultimately save their customers time and money. Similarly, UltraCrete work closely alongside industry bodies such as the RSTA and HAUC to develop codes of practice to raise standards and provide guidance to practitioners.

UltraCrete have made and maintained strong relationships with their supply chain to ensure they always meet their customers’ needs and have made significant investments to ensure their manufacturing facility is always at the forefront of today’s technology. These advances in technology allow UltraCrete to produce their world renowned cold lay asphalt repair products on a ‘just in time’ basis which means their customers will always receive the freshest material possible.

What’s more, all their high quality products are delivered to you straight from the production line. All deliveries are made on their own fleet by employed drivers, resulting in more accurate deliveries, reduced damages and peace of mind.

Working Together to Build Careers

UltraCrete has always been passionate about developing their employees’ skills and helping them reach the next stage of their career. Every year, all UltraCrete employees are given the opportunity to complete the Great Place to Work Trust Index Survey which consists of 58 core statements and assesses an individual’s experience in the workplace.

In 2018, UltraCrete also launched their first Sales Graduate Programme – an initiative that aims to develop Technical and Management abilities to become world-class sales professionals.
