Social Responsibility

We are committed to making a positive and lasting contribution the our local community.

We take a proactive and committed approach to increasing the representation of local people in our workforce and currently, 58% of employees live within a 5 mile radius and 87% within a 15 mile radius.

We support our staff in their charitable endeavours, encouraging them to get involved with organisations or events, alongside promoting their causes to our workforce to encourage sponsorship and awareness. As a business we also like to be proactive with fundraising and we support a variety of initiatives throughout the year.

Our Commitment to Giving

In the past 12 months our staff have raised approximately £8,000 for our charities. However, as a company, we have extended our support to national and international causes, previously buying hospital equipment and supporting tsunami relief. The directors and the staff have a raised approximately £200,000 for different causes in the last two decades.

Furthermore, we have also supported requests from employees, customers and other local businesses. We have donated money, time and product. In addition, we have offered our weeks in our holiday homes to worthy causes and have had charity football matches with auctions.

Most recently we have been supporting the ‘Young Minds‘ charity who work to promote good mental health amongst children and young people. We did this to coincide with Metal Health Awareness Day.

Each year we support a primary list of charities including:

We raise money through:

  • Dress down days
  • Cake sales and tombolas
  • Red noses and badges
  • Staff fundraising initiatives
  • Donation appeals for Christmas
