Instarmac’s Martin Pouncey named Employee of the Year

Instarmac are very proud to announce that Martin Pouncey, Technical Training and Site Support Manager for their UltraTileFix and UltraFloor brands, has been awarded with the Employee of the Year Award and the tiling industry’s leading award ceremony.

The Tile Association (TTA) Awards brings together the industry’s elite talent for an evening of success and celebration. Receiving a TTA Award is an outstanding symbol of excellence and with this in mind, Instarmac are extremely proud that a member of their Training and Technical Team has been recognised by the industry to win the coveted ‘Employee of the Year’ award.

Martin Pouncey, Technical Training and Site Support Manager for Instarmac’s tiling and flooring brands, began his tiling career in 1992 and has spent the last 29 years working as a tiling contractor, running his own business, teaching apprentices and supporting the industry with his knowledge and expertise.

Martin plays an integral role at Instarmac. His responsibilities include conducting bespoke training, providing on-site support, writing specifications, investigating issues, hosting UltraTileFix’s extremely popular Academy Days, carrying out product demonstrations, as well as providing invaluable telephone and face-to-face advice.

What’s more, Martin joined the TTA Training Committee in 2019 and regularly audits membership applications. In 2020, he rewrote the ‘College Centre of Excellence Application’ – a voluntary commitment completed by Martin.

By adapting his training techniques, and adhering to all Government guidelines, Martin was able to continue supporting the industry carrying out essential construction work during the COVID-19 pandemic – no easy feat.

Winning this prestigious award is testament to Martin’s dedication to his role and responsibilities, both of which have made a huge difference to the tiling industry and everyone how works within it. Congratulations Martin on winning this fantastic award.

Tough Patch flows easily, doesn’t go hard in the bags and is not weather dependent. It appears to compact better and cures harder.
