UltraFloor scores at Peterborough United Football Club

UltraFloor are delighted to have provided Stanground Carpets & Flooring with expert subfloor preparation materials to complete a 650sqm renovation at Weston Homes Stadium, home to Peterborough United.

Background

Experienced flooring contractors and CFA members, Stanground Carpets & Flooring had been commissioned to lay 650sqm of flooring throughout the Network Lounge Bar, Tommy Robson Bar, all corridor areas and 15 Executive Boxes in the BGL stand at Peterborough United football stadium.

The Challenge

Before the new Moduelo flooring could be installed, the concrete power floated substrate required a flooring compound that would smooth over any areas of unevenness and dry completely level to allow the chosen floor covering to be laid correctly.

The project also required a repair mortar to restore the stairs to their former glory after becoming damaged through constant trafficking

The Solution

Long-standing UltraFloor customers, Stanground Carpets & Flooring chose to use Prime IT Multi-surface Primer and Level IT Renovate to complete the £25,000 project at this exciting location.

Formulated to promote adhesion to all UltraFloor smoothing underlayments, Prime IT Multi-surface Primer reduces pinholing, minimising the risk of costly failures. With a coverage rate of 200m² at 3:1 dilution, Prime IT multi-surface Primer is a must-have product for all flooring installation projects.

Developed for the renovation of existing floors, Level IT Renovate is fibre reinforced for added strength and to minimise the risk of hairline cracks – reducing a common cause of failure.

Suitable for deep applications from 3-40mm, Level IT Renovate is multi-purpose for extensive use and boasts excellent flow properties, making this flexible and versatile floor leveller ideal for a wide range of flooring substrates.

Level IT Renovate is protein free, reducing the risk and spread of bacteria, and is low odour providing a pleasant environment for contractors, homeowners and any staff working within the project area.

What’s more, Level IT Renovate has a working time of 20-30 minutes, can be walked on in as little as 2-2.5 hours and can receive floor coverings in just 4 hours.

To complete the project, Stanground Carpets & Flooring used Patch IT to repair the damaged stairs. The slump free characteristics of Patch IT repair mortar make it the ideal product for repairing small cracks in walls and floors, concrete stair edges and for creating coves and ramps.

The Results

Everyone involved in the restoration of the BGL stand were delighted with the finished flooring. Thanks to the rapid setting properties of the UltraFloor materials, and the expertise of Stanground Carpets & Flooring, this project was completed 2 days ahead of schedule.
