UltraTile is proud to announce that it has been awarded Best Environmental Initiative at the prestigious 2026 Tile Association Awards, recognising the company’s ongoing commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility across every aspect of its operations.
The award celebrates UltraTile’s continued investment in greener manufacturing processes, sustainable product development, renewable energy, and low-emission logistics, reinforcing its position as a leader in sustainable innovation within the tiling industry.
As part of its environmental strategy, UltraTile has focused on reducing its environmental impact while maintaining the high-performance standards customers expect from its product range.
One of the standout initiatives recognised by the judges was ProEco Gel, UltraTile’s innovative tile adhesive launched in 2024. Containing 30% recycled content – one of the highest ratios available in the market for a gel-like adhesive – the product has already helped save more than 132 tonnes of virgin raw materials through sales alone.
Sustainability is embedded throughout UltraTile’s product portfolio, with products including ProGrout Flexible in Vintage White containing 50% recycled content, ProGrout Flexible Ivory containing 48% and ProGrout Flexible Brilliant White incorporating an impressive 75% recycled content.
The company’s commitment extends beyond product development. UltraTile operates a 40-strong delivery fleet, including 17 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) vehicles, delivering an 80% reduction in CO₂ emissions compared to conventional alternatives. Combined with Euro 6 vehicles across the remainder of the fleet, these initiatives have helped reduce annual emissions by approximately 1,700 tonnes.
UltraTile’s drivers also play a key role in supporting circular economy initiatives through a pallet collection scheme. Since October 2021, 84,325 pallets have been collected from customers free of charge for reuse or recycling, helping save the equivalent of 321,081 trees.
Further environmental investments can be seen at UltraTile’s state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Tamworth. The site features 3,707sqm of solar panels capable of generating 680,000kW of clean energy, alongside intelligent lighting systems and grey water technology that utilises recycled rainwater throughout the facility.
Commenting on the award win, Josh Jiks, UltraTile Brand Manager, said: “Winning Best Environmental Initiative is a fantastic achievement and a testament to the dedication of our entire team. Sustainability is not a standalone project at UltraTile; it is embedded throughout our products, operations and long-term business strategy.
We are incredibly proud of the progress we have made from increasing recycled content in our products, and investing in renewable energy to reducing emissions across our logistics network. However, we recognise that sustainability is an ongoing journey, and we remain committed to driving further improvements that deliver measurable benefits for both our customers and the environment.”
Looking ahead, UltraTile is continuing to strengthen its sustainability strategy through a range of future initiatives including centralised sustainability reporting, comprehensive carbon footprint assessments, science-based emissions targets, enhanced ESG reporting processes, and increased third-party verification of environmental performance.
These actions will support the company’s ambition to deliver transparent, deliverable progress while helping build a more sustainable future for the construction industry.
